With the free agent frenzy in full gear, one move jumped out at me: Bernard Berrian signing with the Vikings.

Berrian led the Bears in receiving last year, but left Chicago for big money in Minnesota. I just want to get this straight, the Vikings weren’t exactly the bastion of passing prowess last year, but Berrian saw an opportunity he didn’t have in Chicago. That’s not saying much for the Bears’ offense, which now lost its two best WRs, has no hope at quarterback and still features Cedric Benson at running back, occasionally.

The Vikes still need Tavaris Jackson to step up, but this is otherwise a great move. If opposing defenses now have to focus on Berrian, it will just free up Adrian Peterson a little more. As for the Bears’ offense, at least linebacker Lance Briggs re-signed. Chicago is going to need all the defense it can get.
