I read in one publication that it’s a down year for tight ends. Maybe I just remember the old days when it was Tony Gonzalez, Wesley Walls and the rest of the league, but I still feel TEs are deeper than ever. In this list, Ben Watson is ranked 14th — if waiting on a tight end while drafting better players at other positions, he’s still a good option as your TE1.

The first tier on this list runs to about Dallas Clark at No. 6; the second tier extends to Watson, with plenty of sleeper potential among the TE2s. You would have to really try not to draft a decent tight end in 2008.
