Got my Kansas Muzzleloader TAG!
Posted by dihardhunter on July 2, 2008
Found out yesterday that dad and I drew our Kansas muzzleloader tags. Took the preference point that we built up last year, so I’m glad we made that investment when we did. September 22, season comes and we’ll be there 2 days beforehand to scout and get settled in before a week long hunt for big early season Kansas bucks!

Wouldn’t mind catching up to one that looks like this!

Where will you be hunting?

Around St. Paul, KS…it was a lease that we were bargaining with that kind of turned into a guided hunt…but not really…
Our 2 guys last year killed a 140 and 171 early muzzleloader…i’m hoping for a repeat!

Unit 11? What’s your second unit?

We didn’t even choose a second unit, I’m not sure if it is too late to do that or not…you’re from shawnee is that right?
Where will you be doing your hunting this fall?

I thought Non-residents were required to pick an adjoining unit. I am from Shawnee, which is west of KC. I hunt mostly unit 11 and I’m excited to hear how your hunt goes. I spent saturday setting up foodplots and thinking about stand locations.
Is your tag valid during the general rifle provided you use a ML?

You know, I’m not sure, but hopefully we won’t have to worry about that….I think it’s valid only for MZ season though.
Be sure to let me know how your hunting goes this fall. If we have a day or two, I might scout some public land for future reference…maybe a return trip in 2009…true DIY…
