Penguins to Dance with Lord Stanley

Who will they be dancing with?  That issue is still up in the air, but they’ll probably be doing the tango with the Detroit Red Wings – the team who knocked them out of last year’s Stanley Cup Finals.

I hesitated to talk any trash about the Carolina Hurricanes because not only did I live in Raleigh for over 5 years while attending NC State and I know a lot of Hurricanes fans, fellow blogger Moose over at Moose Droppings is a Caniac himself.

But now that they have been removed from the Pittsburgh Penguins path to the SCF…

Outgunned up the middle, soft goaltending from a premier goaltender, too many turnovers, no power play, and most importantly…the Penguins weren’t about to let their Cup dreams skid to a halt at the hands of the traitor-led (yes, I’m talking about Bill Cowher) Hurricanes.

After doing a little spring cleaning with the old broom, the Penguins will get several days to rest and prepare for their last match-up of the hockey season.  Loser goes home, winner gets the Cup!  GO PENS!!!!
