Inaugural POMA Pinnacle Awards Presented

Tack Robinson, the press relations director for Mossy Oak (Haas Outdoors), announced the inaugural Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) Pinnacle Award honorees during POMA’s 3rd Annual Business Conference at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mossy Oak is the title partner of the POMA Pinnacle Awards.
The 2008 honorees are:
POMA Pinnacle Award for Magazine Article - Tes Jolly, Tuskegee, Alabama, for “Loverboy Lives” in Turkey and Turkey Hunting magazine.
POMA Pinnacle Award for Newspaper Article - Harry Guyer, Loysburg, Pennsylvania, for “Granny and the Grouse” published in the Bedford (PA) Gazette.
POMA Pinnacle Award for Photography/Illustration - Tim Flanigan, Bedford, Pennsylvania, for “Grouse Portrait” published in The Sportsman Magazine (The Sportsman Channel).
POMA Pinnacle Award for Broadcast - Steve Scott, Norman, Oklahoma, for “The Mountains of Namibia” from Safari Hunter’s Journal aired on the Versus Network.
“Mossy Oak is deeply committed to POMA and the Pinnacle Awards,” Robinson explained during the awards presentation. “Traditional outdoor sports writers, illustrators and broadcasters are the lifeblood of the outdoor industry. Through their voices, they engage their audiences, excite and encourage them, and teach them how to hunt, fish, shoot, trap and simply get outdoors.

The POMA Pinnacle Awards honor journalists annually for exceptional journalistic achievement in traditional outdoor sports-focused writing, photography/illustration and broadcasting.
During the conference, Mossy Oak also committed to working with POMA as the title partner of the POMA Pinnacle Awards for many years to come. Together, Mossy Oak and POMA plan to grow the awards and their outreach - to augment the award’s reputation as the most prestigious honor an outdoor industry journalist can receive.
