Pursuit Announces Addition of Hank Parker to 2010 Programming
August 5, 2009
LUVERNE, AL. – Professional bass tournament legend and outdoor icon Hank Parker announced a new media alliance today as he and the Hank Parker family of outdoor businesses and media properties committed to place a number of their television products with the Pursuit Channel in 2010. His fishing program will anchor a solid and entertaining lineup of well-known fishing programs during a branded prime time night as well as additional hunting shows centered on him and his boys Hank Jr., and Billy “Catfish” Parker.
“After looking over the landscape and thinking about my family’s future in the outdoor industry, I firmly believe Pursuit is the way to go for those of us in the television game long term,” Parker said. “Pursuit is committed to being friendly and affordable to the producer, to the manufacturers, and to the viewers as well, while reaching more actual outdoorsmen’s living rooms than any other pure hunting and fishing network.”
Parker said the business plan on which Pursuit is founded, combined with the true outdoorsmen at the heart of the network, made the move an obvious call.
“Their growth plan is aggressive,” he said, “but it won’t break the bank for us producers. In fact, it will put our shows in front of more men, women, children, and families than ever who live and love the outdoor lifestyle, all on a budget we can afford.”
Parker’s move comes on the heels of a similar announcement made by Mossy Oak earlier this month, when the company committed their resources to branded, destination blocks of programming, anchored by their award-winning, popular programs.
“After visiting with the folks at Pursuit and understanding their vision for the future, my boys and I could see they live and practice what they preach,” Parker said. “There is no big me and little you. There is no lesser species. It is all about the love of the American outdoors. All you have to do to be a part of this fraternity is to love and appreciate the American outdoors and hold it in the rightful respect.”
Rusty Faulk, CEO of Pursuit network added, “It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome Hank to our family of hard-working and dedicated producers for next year. He is not only one of the longest running success stories on outdoor TV, he is also the exemplary model of the family-centered, Christian outdoorsman. He clearly understands the outdoor television and network business as well as the responsibility we all collectively hold to an industry and lifestyle we love dearly.”
Look for Hank and his boys to begin airing on Pursuit beginning in 2010.
