Scent Control, Stealth and Versatility Highlight Rocky’s Tri-Season Apparel

September 16, 2009

NELSONVILLE, OH -Stealthily quiet from fall to spring, Rocky’s Tri-Season apparel is a great investment for the passionate, multi-season outdoorsman.

The soft, SilentHunter micro-suede fabric allows for complete silence in the woods while accelerating moisture away from skin, keeping the wearer warm and dry. Tri-Season apparel takes its styling cue from extreme sports, providing versatility and extensive range-of-motion while remaining comfortable and durable.

The Tri-Season line carries Rocky’s ScentIQ Atomic technology, which eliminates odor-causing bacteria and keeps hunters concealed while in the woods. Best of all, this feature comes with the benefit of no special detergent, sprays, or other care required.

“Tri-Season apparel is a great key investment for all outdoorsmen because of its extreme adaptability,” said Sam Coalson, Rocky’s outdoor marketing manager. “This gear can be worn alone or as layers depending on the weather. It doesn’t need any special laundering to protect the ScentIQ™ technology, and it has numerous styling features that were made with the hunter-on-the-move in mind.”

A full line of shirts, jackets, pants, headwear and gloves are available ranging in price from $9.99 to $89.99. Featured camo patterns include Mossy Oak Treestand, Brush, and Break-Up.

Mossy Oak Duck Blind Camo on Browning Transitions Series Apparel For 2009

July 16, 2009

MORGAN, UT – With Browning’s introduction of the Transitions Series line of apparel in 2008, getting the most out of layering became easier to understand and more effective than ever before for big game hunters. For 2009, Browning will expand the Transitions Series to now include garments designed to the specific needs of waterfowl hunters. Base layer, insulation layer and protection layer garments will all be offered in Mossy Oak Duck Blind.

The Transitions Series was created out of necessity with three primary objectives: to do more with less by eliminating weight and bulk while improving performance, to be backpack friendly by placing pockets where they can be easily accessed when wearing a pack, and to revitalize the time-proven concept of layering.

Waterfowl season places great demands on what hunters wear to stay dry, warm and comfortable. Transitions Series apparel from Browning will allow the waterfowl hunter to adapt to varying weather conditions: warm and humid, cold and rainy or anything in between. Lightweight fleece, 700 Fill Power Down, Gore-Tex and Browning Pre-Vent fabrics will be featured in the new Transitions Series Waterfowl apparel for 2009.

Base layer garments in the Transitions Waterfowl category will include the new Endurance Fleece that is designed to maximize warmth while minimizing bulk. The stretchy new material moves with the wearer, offering unrestricted mobility and protection from cold. An Endurance Fleece Quarter-Zip pullover, wader pant, Comfort Fleece shirt and pant will give hunters plenty of options in the base layer category.

In the Transitions insulation layer category Browning will offer a new Windcutter™ pullover, Windcutter hooded pullover, Windcutter vest and Windcutter hooded vest. Browning Windcutter is a waterfowl soft shell three-layer, four-way stretch laminated fabric with an abrasion-resistant and highly water-resistant polyester outer face. The middle layer consists of Windcutter laminate that blocks wind and provides water-resistance in all but the most extreme weather, and the inner layer is a soft fleece.

Browning will offer the new 4X Microfleece in the Transitions Insulation category that will include a 4X Microfleece jacket and vest. Both feature a highly constructed microfiber fabric that is wind-resistant and extremely quiet in a backpack friendly design. In addition, Browning will offer the 700 Fill Power Down jacket and vest that provides maximum warmth with the least weight and bulk. The shell is a high tread count, down-proof fabric that assures optimum loft and compactness.

In the Transitions protection layer category, Browning will introduce the new Maxus Gore-Tex jacket, Wing-Set jacket and Gore-Tex Paclite Half-Zip pullover that will give the waterfowl hunter the latest in soft-shell technology. The Gore-Tex Paclite fabric provides waterproof protection in a lightweight nylon fabric.

Browning Introduces Maxus Gore-Tex Jacket And Wing-Set Jacket

July 7, 2009

MORGAN, UT – New for 2009, in Browning’s new Transitions Waterfowl line of apparel, are the Maxus Gore-Tex Jacket and Wing-Set Jacket that will give waterfowl hunters the most up-to-date technologies available in fabrics and construction to keep them warm, dry and comfortable.

The new Maxus Jacket brings the latest developments in design and technology to waterfowl hunting. Utilizing Gore-Tex fabrics and Gore Comfort Mapping technology, the Maxus Jacket greatly improves comfort by design, strategically placing different Gore-Tex fabrics in specific locations to maximize mobility and protection from the elements. Comfort Mapping breaks the human body into a map with different climatic zones, using rugged, warm Gore-Tex soft-shell fabric in areas requiring more protection such as shoulders, and lightweight Gore-Tex Paclite fabric where less weight and bulk are preferred and mobility must be maximized like in the lower torso and under the arms.

Both Gore-Tex soft shell and Gore-Tex Paclite are constructed from a new nylon fabric that offers low shine for better print quality and improved concealment. The Maxus Gore-Tex Jacket will be offered in Mossy Oak Duck Blind camo. A detachable hood, articulated elbow and Freedom Sleeve design are also featured. Call pockets, upper hand warmer pockets and lower pockets with hook-and-loop secured flaps provide ample storage. The Maxus Jacket is available in sizes S-3XL with a suggested retail price ranging from $370 – $402.

The new Wing-Set Jacket from Browning in the Transitions Waterfowl Protection layer category features soft-shell construction and weighs only 26 oz. The three-layer fabric combines a rugged nylon outer shell, waterproof, windproof and breathable Pre-Vent lamination and a warm inner fleece layer to provide warmth and protection over a very broad temperature range. Unlike other soft-shell jackets that claim to be waterproof, the Wing-Set jacket truly is with external taping on every seam. The Freedom Sleeve construction and articulated elbows allow unrestricted movement to swing and follow through on each shot.

The new Transitions Series Wing-Set Jacket features a detachable hood, two upper call pockets with zipper closures, two lower pockets with zipper closures and water-resistant, laminated cuffs with hook-and-loop closures. The Wing-Set Jacket is available in Mossy Oak Duck Blind in sizes S-3XL. The suggested retail price is $225 – $250.

Leupold Introduces New Northfork Binocular Line

June 3, 2009

Company’s First Slim Hinge Design

BEAVERTON, OR- Leupold has combined premium features and advanced optical performance with a sleek, single-hinge design in its newest line of binoculars, the Northfork Series.

The binoculars’ futuristic design incorporates a single, slim hinge near the eyecups – similar to an open-bridge style without a hinge near the objective lenses. This configuration allows for an increased level of comfort and ergonomics since both hands can wrap around the barrels.

“The design of the Northfork makes them very comfortable to operate for extended periods in the field,” said Mike Slack, Leupold’s marketing communications manager. “Observationists get premium quality and image clarity at a mid-level price.”

The Northfork line features 45mm objective lenses and Super High Reflection prism enhancement. Combined with a fully multi-coated lens system and additional anti-reflection coatings on the BAK4 prisms, the binoculars provide hunters with a sharp, bright image in virtually any light or weather condition. The Northfork’s long eye relief makes them ideal for any hunter with or without eyeglasses. With a close focus of less than 10 feet and an angular field of view of more than six degrees, the Northfork is versatile enough to meet the needs of everyone from backyard birders to hardcore naturalists.

Models available include 8.5×45mm or 10.5×45mm with either black or Mossy Oak Break-Up armor coating. The binoculars include a case, padded-edge neoprene neck strap, and eyepiece and objective lens covers. The Northfork is protected by the Leupold Green Ring Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Gear For The Gals – Rocky Introduces Women’s Apparel Line

May 13, 2009

NELSONVILLE, OH – More and more, women are taking to the woods for hunting season, and Rocky recognizes they need to be dressed for it.

“Just because women have moved into what has traditionally been a men’s sport doesn’t mean they have to dress in men’s clothes,” says Rocky apparel Vice President John Maser.

Indeed, Rocky’s new women’s line is designed to fit a woman’s body. The line has classic women’s clothing features like a slim, tailored fit, smaller collar lines, and shorter hems and inseams in the sleeves, legs, and shirt bottoms.

“We wanted to make sure we got it right,” said Maser of Rocky’s foray into women’s apparel. “Our fit experts performed hundreds of measurements and fittings on women of all sizes, from fit models to our employees and their family members!”

The women’s line is available in Rocky’s new SilentHunter, which is an updated version of its extremely popular line with Scent IQ (SIQ) technology. The ultra comfortable SilentHunter boasts a multitude of sport-ready features that are already hunter favorites.

Rocky’s soft, micro suede Silent Hunter material not only provides superior comfort, but also provides extreme stealth for stalking game. SIQ Atomic helps control human odor on a microbial level, providing scent-invisibility to the wearer while the moisture-wicking lining provides dryness and perspiration control. Features like scores of conveniently located silent-zip pockets for holding the necessities, double knee and seat patches for kneeling and sitting, and adjustable leg openings for blocking cold and debris will only add to the Rocky woman’s hunting experience.

Women’s SilentHunter is available in sizes small to extra large, and features Mossy Oak Break-Up camouflage. Styles include a half-zip, long-sleeve shirt and cargo pants, ranging in price from $44.99 to $69.99.

Founded in 1932, Rocky manufactures and markets rugged outdoor, duty, work and western footwear, apparel and accessories. The company’s products are available in nearly 3,000 retail and catalog outlets. It is a division of Rocky Brands, a publicly traded company on NASDAQ® under the symbol: RCKY.
