Another Great Post-Sledding Drink Recipe
I promised more after the first, so here’s another great warm drink to enjoy after a long day of snowmobiling!
This one comes from the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book (my favorite!). It’s really simple to make, and sure to warm you up!
Hot Buttered Rum
3/4 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C softened margarine or butter
1/4 TSP finely shredded lemon peel (that’s why I have that in my spice cabinet….)
1/4 TSP ground cinnamon
1/4 TSP ground allspice
Rum
Boiling water
Basically, you just combine all the dry ingredients and mix them together well. Then the base is ready to use. You can use it right away, or you can refrigerate it (covered) and store it up to a month.
When you’re ready for a nice warm buttery drink, just combine 1 rounded tablespoon of mix, 3 Tablespoons of Rum, and 1/2 Cup boiling water in a mug and stir. Then enjoy!
The nice thing about this recipe is you can mix it up ahead of time, then store it until ready for it after sledding. It’s a nice hot drink in a hurry that will definately chase the snowmobiling chill out of your bones!!
Here’s to happy sledding and happy drinking!
