Snowmobile Ride to Benefit Children’s Hospital

This email in this morning from Kristy Martin–info on an organizing NW Colorado snowmobile ride for charity.  To benefit Children’s Hospital.  Do note that you can donate even if you can’t make this charity snowmobile ride.  Kristy’s message below tells you all the important what, when, how, and why (or where to find that stuff out)

Colorado Snowmobile Ride For Charity-Children’s Hospital

    Colorado Charity/Raffle Ride!!

…you don’t have to be from Colorado to join in on this fun!!  Many snowest.com forum members have formed a annual ride with a raffle giveaway, raffle proceeds this year will go to SAWS.  This year they have kicked it up a notch, the donations for the raffle have been done by business’s from all over, they have also submitted there business logo which is going on a t-shirt.  These t-shirts and screen printing were donated 100% for a charity, which all proceeds go to the children’s hospital.  The ride will be February 13-15th, what a perfect valentines day, being out on the snow sharing a great time with the ones you love.  The ride is open to any and all, it will be a awesome time, and from what I hear will be one of the biggest rides yet.  The ride is in NW Colorado, and will be near Steamboat Springs at www.steamboatlakeoutfitters.com, and surrounding lodges, go to www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82983 to get more information as well.  If you can’t make the ride, but would like to donate to the Children’s Hospital, place your order here,he accepts paypal and or mail a check with your order information. www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82983

Have a great WINTER!!!  Hope to see you at the CO ride!!!

What Happens When Things Go Right

Here’s something we don’t hear people talking about much–the consequences of things going right.  Let’s say…for a blog.  About snowmobiling.  In the middle of summer.

    What’s So Good?

As you might have guessed by now, things have actually been going well for my real job, which is writing web content (in short, that’s all the stuff you read on the web, from eBooks to website pages to articles…).  I have been building up a team of writers who work with me as well as been tapped for some ongoing projects with regular clients.  All that, and the writing I was already doing.  It’s all been good things, but it’s left me a little strapped for time.

    The Consequences Of Positive Actions

So I’ve been strapped.  I am, after all, one person.  A mom of 4 actually–4 that started a new school year and new schedule of activities.  With a husband who cannot boil water, so has limited avenues for cutting me slack on the homefront.  A husband who, I have to say (for the sake of fairness and civility) is also very busy and hard working.  And we all know what happens when we get pressed for time that just can’t be created.  Something has to give.  Lately, it’s been the blog.  In my defense, it’s not like it’s been snowing or anything.

    So Is This Goodbye?

No this is not goodbye. This is bear with me while I reinvent a balance again.  The weather is turning cooler, I’ve got team memebers more up to speed, and so I feel the inklings of inspiration budding again.  And I have readers sending in great pics so that heps–we’ll be seeing those soon enough.

So Is There Anything I Can Do To Help?

Yeah.  You can.  Keep reading when I’m here (or use the time to sift through the archives).  Or better yet, inspire me.  Suggest something to talk about.  Better than that, write something for me!  Bang out a guest post–anything you want–and email it to me at seldderchick@gmail.com.  Feel free to include links to your own blog, website, business, or what have you (but please somehow make it sled-related :) )  Do a little self-promo for you, your club, your favorite sled sites, or whatever and I’m happy to let that ride as my thanks to you.  Meanwhile, I’ll try to carve a little more time out of my day for sled talk.

The Familiar Sound Of Snowy Wishes

I don’t often find myself with things in common with skiers; at least I don’t think of myself as having anything in common with skiers, since I am just too chicken to try!  But I guess it should stand to reason that we have at least a little something in common, such as our affinity for things that are white and cold.

I guess what I really failed to think about was that skiers, like snowmobilers, are as desperate for cold weather as us, and that they are also wishing away warm, cozy weather and bear-it-all shorts for frigid blizzards at all times of the year.  This came clear to me this morning when visiting a new SkinnyMoose Media blog, Step Outside.

Does This Sound Familiar To You?

I can completely relate to what Step Outside is saying here

I am quick to say goodbye to summer and welcome the upcoming winter. Ski season has to be right around the corner, somewhere…It may be a little premature, but the colder days settling on Seattle today encourage me to look forward to the first snowfall tomorrow.

Looking forward to skiing on the first days of September may not be the norm, but skiing has the ability to grip you—leaving you anxiously anticipating the next opportunity to rip through some powdery goodness.

It is memories from the previous season that excite the next season…

Truer words never were spoken.  Well, if you replace all references to skiing with snowmobiling, I’m there.  At least for today I’ve expanded my horizons wide enough to embrace yet another winter sport, and say buddy, I’m right there with you, cold wishes and all!!

Here’s to another early, long, cold, snow-filled winter!

Hey!  Step Outside is much more than a skier’s wish list!  Go here to welcome our newest Outdoor Blogger to SkinnyMoose!
