Ashlyn Score Again

On the evening of Monday Aug. 6 Ashlyn and myself eased off for another evening hog hunt. We had seen several hogs the evening before but never got a shot at them. We were in the blind by 6:45 pm, the feeder went off not long after that and we spent an 1.5hrs watching squirrels and crows. Close to dark I looked up and seen several hogs heading our way through the hardwood bottom. I got Ashlyn up and ready and she had to sit on my leg because the hole was too short to shoot out of standing up. We let the hogs come in and start eating the corn and get settled down. There was a sow that was bigger than the rest and pushing the rest around and that is the one I told Ashlyn to take. She slowly drew her bow, I had the perfect view right down the side of her bow arm, and took aim. She released and the shaft flew perfect taking the sow through the heart. At the shot the hog turned and run with the arrow barely hanging on by the fletching on the far side, she didnt make it 40 yds before she piled up. The little 85gr magnus stinger out of the Hoyt banshee on beman ics jr arrows had made a great blood trail and perfect little 4 blade cross in the heart. She was pulling 39lbs on this hog and will easily be able to pull 40lbs to legally hunt deer with a bow this year. This was her 5th hog, second with the bow and has also taken 12 deer with the rifle, she is 9yo and a hunting addict.
