This morning me and Ash decided it was time for a little change. We have been gettng some pics of a big buck that we nicknamed the martian  a couple of years ago and have decided to let ash take this year. So we broke out the shooting sticks and she proceeded to put some rounds down range instead of the usual arrows.

First we loaded up some 308 with a cast 170gr fp with a gas check loaded over a mild load of 10gr of unique since she wanted to shoot my little ruger 77rsi. She went through 20rds in no time flat plunking the bullets right where they were supposed to go while shooting off some shooting sticks for the first time. She will be huntng out of popup blinds for the first time this year and their isnt much to rest the rifle on so the sticks come in handy.

Nest we broke out her moms 257 roberts and she shot 10rds of full power ammo through it and was really enjoying herself. She says that was the one she wanted to shoot her buck with. A 100gr nosler partition over some 4350 for about 3100fps will make short work out of the old martian with a solid shot.

Next we took it easy and she got the 22-250 warm just shooting some rem factory 55gr loads I had laying around. Then she finished  up with the little marlin 17vls shooting up most of my ammo in the process and just now came in here wanting me to get the 22 out for her to shoot simce I had a couple thousand rounds for it. I have created a monster!!! Just like I planned it!

I burned up some 32mag ammo through my super single six and put some through my 9mm Kahr cw9 that I carry daily. Doesnt hurt to practice as much as you can with your carry gun, you never know when you are gonna need it. I have to say mine is mostly used on snakes and putting a coup de grace on big game. Though I have taken hogs with my 1911 45 while carrying it. A 230gr hollowpoint will put a hog down no problem with a shot to the boiler room.

Felt good to shoot the guns a little simce spending so much time shooting the bow and not burning much powder this year which is unusual for me as I shot a thousand rounds a month in most years past, mainly through handguns.
