First Look: Indianapolis Colts 2008-9 NFL Football Schedule
Posted by Jason A. Hendricks on July 10, 2008
The Indianapolis Colts 2008-9 NFL Schedule looks to be a tough one. It is still a bit early for me to start contemplating the winners and losers, but I thought I would put up an early view of the schedule and let you decide. Here’s the games and the dates.
- Chicago Bears–Sept. 7
- at Minnesota Vikings–Sept. 14
- Jacksonville–Sept. 21
- BYE
- at Houston Texans–Oct. 5
- Baltimore Ravens–Oct. 12
- at Green Bay–Oct. 19
- at Tennessee–Oct. 27
- New England Patriots–Nov. 2
- at Pittsburgh–Nov. 9
- Houston Texans–Nov. 16
- at San Diego–Nov. 23
- at Cleveland–Nov. 30
- Cincinnati–Dec. 7
- Detroit–Dec. 14
- at Jacksonville–Dec. 18
- Tennessee–Dec. 28
Taking a quick look of the schedule, there a couple of things that pop up on the immediate radar. The biggest will be the New England Patriots at home on November 2nd. There is truly not a bigger game or Rivalry in the NFL today. This game is always much anticipated, and happens to fall on Peyton Manning’s turf this year. That game aside, what else is interesting?
There is the making for a lot of upsets this year. Tennessee has always presented a good game, and before the league realignment a few years back, this was a rivalry that was always looked upon with interest. Keep December 18 & 28 pegged for a possible Colts upset, my bet would be Jacksonville on the Thursday night game, only 4 days off from the Colts playing an improving Detroit team.
San Diego also pops out. They have been right in the middle of the Superbowl chase for a couple of years now. This team could present a problem if they bring their A game. There are also many teams that I am still undecided on, as far as how they may look in the coming year. Chicago, Minnesota, Houston, Green bay, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati could all be interesting games depending upon what team shows up.
What are your thoughts on the schedule?
