Sportsman Choice Award Winners Announced

Amid the cheering of over 700 of their peers, the winners of the 2009 Sportsman Choice Awards were announced last night during Sportsman Channel’s annual awards ceremony at Lagasse’s Stadium in the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, during the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show.
The voice of the American Sportsman was heard as viewers logged nearly 25,000 votes during an eight-week period to determine the award winners. Fans narrowed the field from hundreds of eligible shows to just five finalists in nine categories. Winners received a custom-designed crystal award and joined the elite club of Sportsman Choice Award winners.
“It was a wonderful evening spent with our program producers and guests during this annual celebration,” said Sportsman Sr. Vice President, Todd D Hansen. “It is important for our shows, and their sponsors, to know Sportsman Channel fans voted for them and want to see more of their style of programming.”
“Thank you to viewers and Sportsman Channel for making this event special. Sportsman knows how to put on an event like this, sometimes we are too busy to celebrate these shows and it is great Sportsman has stepped up to the plate,” said Best Combo Show winner, Dan Ferris with MidWest Outdoors.
“I am just honored to be here tonight, and then to be chosen by the viewers of this great network. Glad to be with Sportsman Channel these past few years. We work hard to bring intense big game hunting to the viewers,” said Best Hunt Clip winner, Kevin Gross with Hunting with the Pros.
