For their 10th model year anniversary, BowTech set out to design the most advanced bow ever produced. The result of this focus was the development of three key technologies, all featured on the new BowTech Destroyer.

The OverDrive Binary™ synchronized dual cam system is a remarkable advancement over the original Binary™ system. Both designs offer symmetrical cams that are ’slaved’ to one another to produce perfect synchronization and eliminate nock travel. The original Binary™ system acheived synchronization by using a cable let-out groove mounted on each cam. The OverDrive™ Binary replaces the let-out groove with a pair of eccentric posts mounted on both ends of the cam axle. This cam ‘drive train’ turns when the cam turns. The eccentric posts let cable out as the bow is drawn, providing the same, proven synchronization that Binary™ cams are known for, while allowing the attachment of a split buss cable to either end of the cam axle to add stability and balance. The split buss system is 100% tunable. Cam lean and oscillation after the shot are drastically reduced, allowing perfect arrow flight with virtually any setup. The OverDrive Binary™ doesn’t stop there. The ultra light weight and exceptional balance of the cam helps achieve a near silent, shock free shooting experience.

HardCore Limbs™ is a BowTech innovation that sets a new standard for quality in the archery industry. Layers of high-strength fiberglass are laminated to a stiff, light carbon core. On conventional limbs, most of the bow’s energy is stored near the outside of the limb, while the core of the limb stores minimal energy and serves as little more than a spacer between limb faces. HardCore Limbs put the core to work, storing energy not only near the surfaces, but inside the limb. By sharing the workload, stress is reduced, producing a limb with exceptional durability. As an added bonus, the carbon core is very lightweight, improving the response of the limb, thereby reducing shock, vibration and noise and helping to drive efficiency into new territory. This contributes directly to the shootable speed and performance of the bow.

The new FLX-Guard™ cable containment system for 2010 addresses the tuning issues associated with the extreme cable tension and inflexible cable guards found on today’s bows. Core to this new technology is its flexibility. As the bow is drawn, the FLX-Guard responds by flexing inward, absorbing much of the cable guard torque that would have been transferred to the riser. The result is substantial reduction in lateral nock travel, yielding a real advancement in tune-ability and forgiveness. Along with the two Destroyer models, the FLX-Guard will also be featured on the AdmiralFLX and SentinelFLX.

“From concept, this bow was designed to be easy to draw, quiet, accurate and forgiving. As it turns out, the bow happens to be fast,” Craig Yehle, Principle Designer explains, “We believe it is important for our flagship offering not be construed as a speed bow, but as a truly exceptional all around offering. The Destroyer is offered in two models; Destroyer 350 and Destroyer 340. Both are accurate, shock-free, easy to draw and fast…very fast. While most archers have to trade shootability for speed, the Destroyer delivers both. This balance is accomplished using three new technologies; OverDrive Binary™, HardCore Limbs™ and FLX-Guard™.

OverDrive Binary™ synchronized dual cam system gives the perfect synchronization of a Binary while allowing split buss attachment to both cams for best-in-class cam stability and tune-ability. Premium alloy composition allows for a strong, lightweight design which diminishes noise and vibration.

The high modulus carbon core of the HardCore Limbs™ puts the core to work, storing energy not only near the surfaces, but inside the limb. Distributing stress through the limbs increases overall limb response, efficiency and durability.

The new FLX-Guard™ cable containment system addresses the tuning affects of extreme cable tension and inflexible cable guards found on today’s bows. As the bow is drawn, it flexes inward, isolating the riser from unwanted cable guard torque.

The Destroyer 350 and Destroyer 340 come standard in Realtree Hardwoods HD®. Alternate riser finishes include BlackOps, APG HD, Mossy Oak® Infinity™, OPTIFADE™ Open Country or Forest and Next FLX™. Any alternate finish will have black limbs. All BowTech bows are protected with an InVelvet™ top coat.

“Smooth.” “Silent.” “Solid.” That is how archers are describing the S.W.A.T. The S.W.A.T. has rounded, non aggressive Binary™ synchronized dual cams that make for a smooth, consistent draw, easing into the valley and settling into a rock solid back wall. The Air Raid is equipped with features to help the shooter lay down some serious ground fire. Features include a Single Rotating Module for easy draw length adjustment, a split harness to balance the power cables, improving accuracy, and laminated limbs to provide extra strength. The bow also features a rubber tipped string stop which is directly in line with the stabilizer bushing creating a coupling effect for an efficient transfer of energy straight to the target.

“This bow is unlike any other bow in our line-up,” says Jerid Strasheim, national sales manager, “It’s the perfect balance between speed and forgiveness.”

With an IBO speed rating of 328 to 336 fps and a forgiving 7 inch brace height, the Air Raid is producing 86.2 fpe of kinetic energy. The Single Rotating Module allows for draw length adjustments from 26 to 30 inches in half-inch increments. And, with peak draw weights offered at 65 and 75 pounds, and a tight 32 ¾” axle to axle, the Air Raid will help make quick work of the world’s largest game animals.

The Air Raid is exclusively available in Realtree Advantage Timber®, finished with an InVelvet top coat, a laminate wood one-piece grip and bronzed eccentrics. An 85 pound peak draw weight is available by special order.

Eugene, OR (December 1, 2008)-In the archery business you can’t think just about raising the bar, you must reshape it entirely. BowTech’s latest Center Pivot Riser Technology, featured on three new bows, the Admiral, Captain and Sentinel, in addition to a cache of other features, elevates these bows above the rest of the troops.

The technology begins with a single-piece riser of forged aluminum and which is then machined into shape. Eye-catching cutouts and beveled edges remove excess material while maintaining strength and integrity. The riser then meets the split limbs near the center point in a zero-tolerance assembly process, guaranteeing no-slop precision. You get more strength, virtually no horizontal torque or vibration and, with the deflexed design, consistent accuracy shot after shot. Each bow features BowTech’s proprietary CenterTrac Binary Cam System, Single Rotating Mod and original Carbon Rod String Stop.

With a ton of technology efficiently packed into a tight 31″ frame and IBO speeds of 312 to 320 fps, the Admiral is ideal for thight tree-stand or popular ground blind shooting situations. It has a forgiving brace height of 7 1/2″ and fits a variety of shooters with peak draw weights offered at 40, 50, 60 and 70 ounds and a draw lenght range of 24 to 30″.

The Captain perfectly combines performance, silence and speed. The 34″ axle to axle paired with a 7″ brace height sends arrows flying at IBO speeds of 315 to 323 fps. The bow is offered with peak draw weights of 50, 60 and 70 pounds and a draw length range of 24 to 30″. With every Captain purchased, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. The forgiveness of a longer axle-to-axle length (36 ¾”) makes the Sentinel an ideal hunting and/or 3D target bow, which is suitable for release and finger shooters alike. Available in peak draw weights of 40, 50, 60 and 70 pounds, with a 7″ brace height and adjustable draw length range of 24 ½ to 30 ½”, the Sentinel is boasting IBO speeds of 317 to 325 fps.

BowTech has not purchased or acquired any Ross Archery, Inc. product designs, equipment or inventories. BowTech has not assumed any of Ross Archery, Inc.’s liabilities.

However, BowTech is pleased to confirm that Andy Ross, the founder of Ross Archery, is assisting BowTech in the promotion of a new line of bows designed and produced by BowTech. BowTech’s R&D team has designed the new line of bows to feature the benefits of solid reliability and extreme accuracy; qualities that translate to immediate gratification for the demands of today’s passionate bowhunter.

SAVAGE SPORTS CORPORATION ACQUIRES BOWTECH ARCHERY

Savage Sports Corporation, with corporate offices in Westfield Massachusetts and BowTech, located in Eugene, Oregon are pleased to announce the completion of a landmark agreement whereby Savage acquired BowTech so that the combined resources and strength of the two well-established industry leaders can be concentrated to become a major force for growth within the shooting/hunting/outdoor industry. BowTech’s family of brands will continue to be promoted and marketed independently as a wholly owned subsidiary of Savage Sports Corp.
