Tree stand placement is very important. You need to be aware of trail direction, wind direction and where the sun rises and sets.

All those things will come together  when you place a tree stand upwind from a active trail and if you have sufficient cover and the sun to your back it will lessen the chance of being detected by a veteran whitetail that is on the move.
