HALIFAX (CP)Â - Nova Scotia will issue an additional 1,000 permits for this year’s antlerless deer hunting licence draw.
The province will begin accepting applications by phone on Saturday, July 14.
Natural Resources Minister David Morse says he wants to provide more people with the opportunity to enjoy a high quality deer hunting experience.
Morse says deer numbers have increased throughout the province as a result of two very mild winters.
The number of licences will be adjusted on a regional basis to reflect the deer population in various areas of the province.
A computerized random draw for the 5,750 permits will take place after Sept. 1.
