Cabela’s has Special Media Tour for new Retail Store soon to open
I was given a invitation to tour the brand new Cabela’s store yesterday morning in East Hartford, Connecticut which is in it’s final stages of completion. It is scheduled to open to the public on Friday October 19, 2007.
The building is 185,000 square feet and I was very impressed and amazed at how it looked inside and my first thought was WOW. There was so much to see and I took so many pictures that I can’t fit them all but, I will try to show the highlights.
Front Entrance
Inside view from 2nd. floor balcony
The wildlife museum is one of my favorite rooms, the detail and how the scenes are set up really make a tribute as well as a museum.
Next is the 16,000 gallon Aquarium. It only had shiners and some small mouth bass right now but, more fish are scheduled to arrive before the opening.
Next is something for everyone to enjoy, young or old at heart and that is a Laser Shooting Gallery.
For those bow & arrow shooters and even the ones who have not shot before and want to try there is a 10 yard live archery range where you can try out new gear before purchasing.
If your in the market for a 3D target than this is the place to look.
If your looking for a new gun than I think you will find it here.
This next picture is the cases and shelves that will hold the new guns that are for sale and the thing is those cases are longer than what you see in the picture.
For all those fisherman out there, if you don’t find it here than you probably won’t find it.
Last but not least you should stop by at the restaurant for something to eat and drink. Shopping can make you rather hungry.
I feel with Cabela’s coming to Connecticut it is only going to benefit us and generate a lot of revenue for the state. I know I only live 30 minutes away. I have been buying my gear from the catalog but after going on this tour I feel I won’t be using the catalog as much.
Cabela’s has put a lot of money into this store and other stores as well and it shows how much they care. I personally want to thank Cabela’s spokesperson Mr. John Castillo who took us on this very nice tour.
I also want to thank Cabela’s two press contacts, Gail Shore and Ginger Sisco who were very helpful and very nice to speak to.

What an opportunity. Very nice looking store.
We have on here in Michigan that is about an hour and a half away and I just love the place. Bought a new bow from there this year.
How lucky are you to have it only a half hour away! Nice.

Wow, looks like that place is something. I bet it was fun to get a tour before it gets filled with shoppers.

Arthur, thanks for the comment. I am pumped for sure because we have a store so close. I have been catalog ordering from them for awhile and now I don’t have to.

Kristine, I enjoyed the tour very much and I am positive I will be visiting it quite often. That for sure is my kind of store and I think my wife is already rearranging the budget as we speak, LOL.
