For those who don’t know Baiting Deer is Illegal

Now this is something I feel very strongly about. I do not believe in baiting deer or any animal for that matter. If you can’t hunt via fair chase conditions than you should not hunt at all.

Deer hunting near baited areas illegal in Indiana

The Journal Gazette

Indiana conservation officers would like to remind deer hunters that it is illegal to hunt over, or near, a baited area.

Bait is considered to be any product that is transported into a hunting area and placed there for animal consumption. Baits can be in the form of salt, mineral blocks, prepared solid or liquid that is intended for the animal to eat.

An area is considered to be baited for 10 days after the removal of the bait and affected soil.

If you suspect someone is hunting for deer this method, please contact the Turn in a Poacher hotline at 1-800-847-4367.
