    I have Found Nervana!!!!

I spend alot of time cruising the internet in an effort to promote this blog and to find us new stuff. Well I think I have found the Ultimate Outdoor Site
What I found was an outdoor site called My Outdoor TV .com
Now if you are anything like me you love those hunting videos. Also like me you love learning more about hunting. Than this is the place for you, too. Some of the best shows on TV are here for your reference and enjoyment. The cool thing is……it’s free!!!!! No subscriptions…no dish network/direct tv bills……and the cable company can’t jack your rates every three months or so.

Well to be quite honest I hate TV!!!! THAT STUPID BLACK BOX CAN SIT THERE IN THE CORNER AND ROT!! I don’t have cable or satellite and it mostly gets used to watch DVD’s or Tapes. Well it looks like it is going to see alot less use than that from here on. (Wifey may not agree, so I reserve the right to recant should my life become endangered.)

You have to try the site……..
PS. THIS IS A NON-PAID ENDORSEMENT……..JUST DO IT!!!!!

    ANY LUCK ON YOUTH DAY??????

Well with the crappy weather we had here in the County………things didn’t go well for the fifty or so I knew would be hunting. Out of the 49 or 50 I know, only one buck was taken. With no doe permits around it is going to be a lean year for deer meat in Aroostook. Our deer herd is in sad shape. From a huge record setting herd in 2006……then the killer storms of 2007. Less than projected deer kills in 2008 showing, along with field studies, that we lost at least 50% of our deer. Who knows how many bears and more than a few of our moose. It is going to be awhile before we get to fill a freezer here in my neck of the woods.

But if you have anything left in the freezer you might want to try this sometime:

    Stir fry venison:

    One part venison steak

    2 parts carrots

    2 1 part bean sprouts

    1/2 part celery

    1 part broccoli

    1/2 cup unsalted peanuts

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1/2 cup soy sauce

    1 tbsp. crushed red pepper

    1 tsp. cumin

Cooked noodles- use standard egg noodle, chow mein, or ramen minus the seasoning packet.

(Exact amount of Ingredients is proportional to how many people you are serving. Using 1/2 lb. of venison as 1 part will feed 2 hungry people.)

Slice steaks cross grain and marinade in soy sauce for one day. Throw a little oil in a hot wok to avoid sticking. Stir in venison for about 1 minute. Add other Ingredients, including seasoning, stirring frequently. Add additional soy sauce to coat all Ingredients. Stir in noodles and serve immediately. This dish is low in fat,the only fat comes from the peanuts and oil, which you can control.

Code Blue Giving Away a “Free Hunt”!!!

    October 22, 2009
Win A Free Hunt From Code Blue

Can you smell it? Change is in the air—in the form of Code Blue’s new “TEMPtation Electronic Scent Warmer”.

The “Temptation” electronically heats scent to the actual body temp of a live deer (now do you see how terribly clever that TEMPtation name is?). Heated vapors travel farther and smell fresher, convincing trophy bucks that a deer is close by. The dispenser comes with four AA batteries, but that’s not the only “freebie” you can get from Code Blue.

Code Blue is giving away a FREE Canadian archery hunt at codebluesweepstakes.com. The lucky winner also gets all the Code Blue products needed for the hunt; 25 runner-ups will be consoled with a free bottle of Standing Estrous deer scent.

If you can’t spare 20 seconds to enter for a chance to win a free Canadian hunt, well, you might want to re-examine your priorities.
