Smelts!!!!
There is nothing that tastes better than deep fried smelts!!! Nothing!!
Why wait until the spring runs……..pull a few through the ice. Though not safe as yet. No harm in getting prepared.
Bill Graves over at BDN wrote an excellant piece about it last winter. Go check out the Smelt piece…..Good read.
Looking like a good year for ice fishing once we get rolling. Should have built a shack…but oh well! Have to rough it. Got the traps….will buy an auger and plastic sled to tote it all. Plan on reading about it here folks!!!!
