Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well are located near Sedona, Arizona, another wonderful, scenic area in Northern Arizona. Montezuma Castle is one of the best preserved Native American cliff dwellings in the state, and Montezuma Well, located about 11 miles from the castle, is an excellent example of a 1,000 year-old irrigation system that still works!

The park is a nature lover’s delight, because it includes a stream enviornment that runs year-round, which is unusual in this desert state. There are several short hiking trails that give excellent views of the cliff dwellings, and if you have time, be sure to take one of the guided tours of the area. The area is extremely rich in wildlife, so make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy every aspect of this special oasis in Northern Arizona. Find out more here.
