Wpn Celebrating Three Years:”Connecting The Consumer With The Wildlife Control Industry”

    Wpn Celebrating Three Years

    trapper_robb_logo_2

It is hard to believe with this past Sep 7th just passing WpN is now three year years old.

For the naysayers, we have not ever formed a new trade association and still back our one and only trade association, NWCOA and are proud to be one of their vendor members today.

It is hard to believe that what started out as five guys wanting to share their tips and tricks with other NWCO’s into the 563 members, 165 podcasts and over 200 videos online we have today and have done it without ever charging any member access to our site and have no plans to ever do it either.

Overtime we have evolved into a network of members who are also avid hunters and fur trappers, beekeeping enthusiasts and but have always stuck to one central theme of connecting the wildlife control industry together. There are many who may argue the fit with beekeeping but so many of us do bee cut outs and live bee removals today because of our involvement beekeeping has become a strong interest area to large part of our membership.

Our current business model is to take this all to the next highest level and promote each of these industries and the people behind each of them and will begin “Connecting The Consumer Better With Our Own Industry” with a commitment to educating the public and our own members alike.

We are holding a podcast Sunday Night for all of our NWCO’s to discuss and share ideas on how to make a NWCO’s business stay solvent over a long cold, snowy winter in the deep snow up north.

The next consecutive 50 Thursdays with the exception of each 2nd Tuesday of each Month (WpN Beekeepers Night) we will be interviewing NWCO’s in each state that advertise with WpN with the state of NY this next Thursday. Still time to signup and be part of that podcast.Call and ask Robb how!

Our phone numbers have changed! Some of our web sites have changed but our commitment to promote all of you has never changed and many of you will be amazed at the changes going behind the scenes daily to not only stay competitive but be become the leading web sites about our industry.

    On oct 1st our new monthly Ezine will be part of the content at “WildlifeControl-USA.COM”and will be how we show case our industry in a positive light to the consumer and of course be linked to all of our state and local directories.;

We don’t build you a page but actually build you a web site within our site and give your business all the tools locally to grow on the internet on your own.For those who belong to the directory we do offer free web site hosting and your own personal FTP access to build your own site and connect it to our directory and a win win for those struggling to make every dollar count. Don’t want to build it yourself, ask me to build your site for you or even just just do the SEO work on your site to get the search engine rankings you need to compete as a NWCO in this new digital age.

Any questions or concerns please feel free to call me.

    Los Angeles Wildlife Control Services-Bats-Coyotes-Birds-Raccoons-Skunks-Snakes

24-Hour Service ::Any Animal,Bird or Wildlife, Anytime

    (310)809-8877

    Website: All City Animal Trapping.Com

All City Animal Trapping removes nuisance wildlife in Los Angeles California with a delicate hand. Often using the animals natural movements against them, we are much more than trappers, we are wildlife professionals. Although we do trap urban wildlife from time to time, we use the most humane and effective methods.

Wildlife in Los Angeles can cause illness in humans, cause flea infestations, physical damage to property, and become an immediate threat to the safety of you or your family. Skunks, raccoons, and coyotes are just a few species we typically work with on an every day basis. But we also handle bird control issues, stray cat colonies, squirrel control, and rat infestations.

We rescue orphaned wildlife, and find qualified facilitators to rehabilitate and finish raising the animal. We get calls all the time from people with baby raccoons living in the attic, and they cause quite a racket at night. Most clients in such a case haven’t had much sleep in the past few days, and have a tired look about them. Our methods normally show resolution within 24 hours. Raccoons are mainly nocturnal animals, so humans and animals have conflicting schedules.
Mole and gopher control in Los Angeles is a Gift from God to any landscaper or gardener. Without proper control of these burrowing pests, a lawn or garden can be completely destroyed on weeks. Our men and women in the area can eliminate the animals doing the damage. We will do it quickly and discretely.
Our Los Angeles Office also repairs damages caused to your home by wildlife. This can be anything from patching a hole made by an animal in the roof, or removing and replacing the contaminated insulation in the attic after the animal issue itself has been resolved. Our representatives in Los Angeles have an intensive background in construction and home repair. We can even make the smell of a skunk go away so your neighbors wont be offended, and you wont even know it was there.
So if you have a need for wildlife control in Los Angeles, look no further, All City Animal Trapping is there for you, and there is no job too big or small.

We service the following cities in Los Angeles County:

The Video The Humane Society Of The United States Doesn’t Want You to See

WSB-TV Atlanta aired the all telling expose recently on the deceptively named Humane Society of the United States. Unfortunately, with just a mere 24 hours of airing, all mentions of that piece were removed from the station’s website and even from Google’s Youtube site which had over 10,000 downloads.

Well the joke is now on them now and no money, or threats is gonna be able to buy off this video server from Iran.

HSUS does not do as much to help animals as most people think. Amazing what the name does and actually how little they actually do for animals in the first place. Take it from this animal lover. Your throwing your money away if it goes anywhere but locally all the animal lovers in the trenches don’t even see a dime from HSUS so why give into their con.

Links to other websites. Because you need to know:

    http://www.arbreptiles.com/extremists.shtml

Pet Rescues Are Broke While HSUS Are Millionaires

Bottom line: Animals need your help and $$$ don’t waste it on HSUS and give it where it does the best good for a local rehabber, or animal shelter who in these economic times will put it where it is need and not on legislation, lobbying and high paid salaries for questionable leadership .

    gopherguyngal

Gregg first started trapping Gophers about nine years ago after a long career as a sheet metal worker, His interest in trapping first started when amound appeared in his own yard and was unsure of wheter or not it was ammole or a gopher. In the beginning he could not catch anything and the more traps he set resulted in more damage to his lawn.

It was not until he attended a lecture given by a master gardner that he learned about a safe, non-toxic way of catching gophers and moles. The trap he used was called a cinch trap. Gregg caught his first gopher the next day. Gregg had several friends who also had gopher problems in their yards and he was able to trap them as well. it was not until he met the President of the Sonoma County Grape
Growers Association and he trapped 8 gophers in his first 45 minutes and to date has trapped 4,500 on his 16 acres .Word got out  and so he started trapping in vineyards, then, golf courses, cemeteries, ranches, schools, and private residences all over Sonoma and Marin County and a business was born.

Gregg met his partner, Nancy Cunnion, 4-years ago. She’s from a ranch in Oregon and wanted to expand her interest of the outdoors, so he taught her (almost) everything she knows. She is not as fast as Gregg, but she is methodical and while Gregg may set more traps per hour, she doesn’t let too many critters get through her sets. Nancy has showed Gregg that women can successfully trap as well, and now teaches women how to trap in their own gardens.

    gophergal

With experience, they has learned all the possible ways to set the traps in all kinds of situations and the least time consuming ways to trap.Gregg has since invented an accessory tool that really takes the work out of trapping. He and Nancy have also produced a detailed DVD teaching others how to trap gophers and moles. They have developed their own design of gopher and moles traps and soon will be offering them for sale on their web site http://gophergone.com (Site Under Development).

Find more videos like this on THE WILDLIFE PRO NETWORK

Gregg and Nancy go out trapping a half hour before sunrise and usually trap until noon or so. They have trapped 97 gophers in 7-hours during their best day. They use ATVs loaded with traps to get around on, and it is not uncommon for them to catch 30, 40, or 50 gophers in a day and they really enjoy the challenge of trapping.

Raccoon Roundworm -Baylisascaris procyonis: What You Need To Know

Raccoon Roundworm : What You Need To Know

by Robb Russell, Gainesville, Florida thewildlifepro.com

New York health officials recently reported two cases of raccoon roundworm. The disease is  so rare there are fewer than 30 cases reported in medical literature. One new York teen lost sight in one eye and a baby is left brain-damaged from the disease. This is a disease transmitted through contact with raccoon feces.

Kirk Lapierre, of Saver-NGM.Com of Rutherford New jersey

Kirk Lapierre, of Saver-NGM.Com of Rutherford New Jersey provides Wildlife control and removal services to all of Northern New Jersey

Kirk LaPierre, of Northern New Jersey, in Rutherford
a well known wildlife control expert and national authority and trainer for the wildlife control community  yesterday brought it to the attention of both Fox News 5 and Daily news that the disease is Raccoon Roundworm and Not Raccoon Ringworm . The stories eventually were changed unfortunately millions in the Greater metropolitan New York area were misinformed before the corrections were made.

Here are a few excerpts from our own site Animal Control-USA.Com:

“You can become infected by accidentally ingesting or inhaling infectious raccoon roundworm eggs. The eggs are passed in the raccoons stool and may contaminate surrounding soil or water. Hands can become contaminated through touching these areas, either through play or gardening.

Infected raccoons can shed millions of eggs per day, and these eggs survive in the environment for months or years. The microscopic egg has a thick outer shell that protects it in the environment and makes it difficult to destroy. The eggs are not visible to the naked eye, so it is not possible to tell exactly what areas are contaminated. Precautions must be taken in all areas where there has been heavy raccoon activity, especially if latrines are seen.”

Reginald Murray of Oklahoma Wildlife Control,LLC  recently provided the following information in Raccoon Roundworm on The Wildlife Pro Network:

Reginal Murray, Oklahoma Widlife Control, LLC has offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City

Reginald Murray, Oklahoma Wildlife Control, LLC has offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City

“When you “ring” the hind legs of an infected raccoon with a knife during skinning … the roundworms will “pop” out like spaghetti … and look the same. If they “pop” out it’s roundworm, not ligament or tendon.

Fire is the only thing that will effectively destroy the roundworm, larva or eggs.”

First Wildlife Control Videocast-History Was Made Last Night

Last Night May 5, 2009, the future of our industry changed forever. The quality will need some work a few more mics and video cameras, maybe a mixer board to produce it all but history was made and we stepped into a new era. The era of video conferences eliminating the need to be present to each and every conference saving time and money and still being there.

Craig Coon, Adirondack Dundee Saratoga Springs, New York

Craig Coon, Adirondack Dundee Saratoga Springs, New York

This all came together because of Craig Coon , Adirondack Dundee of Saratoga Springs, New York, Charles Parker of Kenner, Louisiana and I was glad to be a part of it from both the idea stage and see it through. My role was supposed to be a co-host but actually a co-moderator in the chat room was about all it amounted to. Fellow Wildlife Pro Network and NPWMA members also present online Kirk LaPierre, Allison Lavalle , Charles Parker, and Maynard Stanley.

The topic, was the White Nose Bat Symposium and we NWCO’s do have a future role in collecting roost data and play a future part in trying to stop this fatal disease & may end up being part of the eventual solution if we can stop bats from being extinct in North America.

The next step is taking the conference and getting the content which is in the archives out to the rest of our industry. Craig Coon deserves all the credit both for his involvement with WNS and for asking that we try to video conference.

As it stands right now, Craig Coon is my candidate for Professional of The Year and the year still has along way to its end and he will be a hard act to follow but we will see.For those interested in getting involved with WNS data collection Craig will be announcing how all of us can get involved in the future. Craig’s email adirondackdundee@aol.com and his phone 518-584-5201.

Do Wild Animals Think Your Home Is A 5-Star Resort Hotel!

Do Wild Animals Think Your Home Is A 5-Star Hotel!
    By Robb Russell, Gainesville, Florida

Are you offering cozy accommodations, a snack bar just down the driveway and protection from predators using your attic, porch, deck, under shed or basement a preferred address. Most nuisance animals are active year round, sneaking into your home during the winter for warmth and staying to raise their young in early spring. Some consider it a permanent change of address, others check in every nesting season.

If you offer food, water or a living habitat and it becomes available to opportunistic animals you will become their new 5 Star Hotel Accommodation.

Tips To Help Prevent Unwanted Wild Animal Visitors.

    1. Keep trash covered under lid or store in a garage or shed until pick up time. Leaving garbage bags with edible foods or rubbish with out covered containers invites trouble for both you and your neighbors.

    2. Do you like to grill outside? A good clean grill after use will stop them from be attracted to the grills oils/grease and uncooked food stuff wastes your grill can harbor.Always thoroughly clean a grill after its use.

    3. Keep branches, trees and shrubbery off of your home and roof.many animals are good climbers and squirrels, possums, raccoons and many others will use these to try to cause damage and gain access into your home.

    4. Bird feeders feed more then birds. Yes it is a joy to see the birds but they also attract other vermin like mice, rats , squirrels and their predators. If you actively replace the feed in your bird feeder you may be causing a problem and not even know it.

    5. Never feed a pet outdoors and if you must don’t leave their uneaten food in containers for other unwanted visitors. One of the biggest causes of unwanted vermin starts with leaving food out for a stray cat or dog.

These are just a few tips and having your home inspected and replacing worn building materials and closing off entry and exit points is the best way to have a pro active wild animal or bird program.
