Wpn Celebrating Three Years:”Connecting The Consumer With The Wildlife Control Industry”

    Wpn Celebrating Three Years

    trapper_robb_logo_2

It is hard to believe with this past Sep 7th just passing WpN is now three year years old.

For the naysayers, we have not ever formed a new trade association and still back our one and only trade association, NWCOA and are proud to be one of their vendor members today.

It is hard to believe that what started out as five guys wanting to share their tips and tricks with other NWCO’s into the 563 members, 165 podcasts and over 200 videos online we have today and have done it without ever charging any member access to our site and have no plans to ever do it either.

Overtime we have evolved into a network of members who are also avid hunters and fur trappers, beekeeping enthusiasts and but have always stuck to one central theme of connecting the wildlife control industry together. There are many who may argue the fit with beekeeping but so many of us do bee cut outs and live bee removals today because of our involvement beekeeping has become a strong interest area to large part of our membership.

Our current business model is to take this all to the next highest level and promote each of these industries and the people behind each of them and will begin “Connecting The Consumer Better With Our Own Industry” with a commitment to educating the public and our own members alike.

We are holding a podcast Sunday Night for all of our NWCO’s to discuss and share ideas on how to make a NWCO’s business stay solvent over a long cold, snowy winter in the deep snow up north.

The next consecutive 50 Thursdays with the exception of each 2nd Tuesday of each Month (WpN Beekeepers Night) we will be interviewing NWCO’s in each state that advertise with WpN with the state of NY this next Thursday. Still time to signup and be part of that podcast.Call and ask Robb how!

Our phone numbers have changed! Some of our web sites have changed but our commitment to promote all of you has never changed and many of you will be amazed at the changes going behind the scenes daily to not only stay competitive but be become the leading web sites about our industry.

    On oct 1st our new monthly Ezine will be part of the content at “WildlifeControl-USA.COM”and will be how we show case our industry in a positive light to the consumer and of course be linked to all of our state and local directories.;

We don’t build you a page but actually build you a web site within our site and give your business all the tools locally to grow on the internet on your own.For those who belong to the directory we do offer free web site hosting and your own personal FTP access to build your own site and connect it to our directory and a win win for those struggling to make every dollar count. Don’t want to build it yourself, ask me to build your site for you or even just just do the SEO work on your site to get the search engine rankings you need to compete as a NWCO in this new digital age.

Any questions or concerns please feel free to call me.

Squirrel Trapping and Control – Squirrels are small, desructive furry rodents who become a nuisance when they enter attics, soffits, and other areas of buildings.Squirrels are capable of causing damage through their gnawing activities, including creating a fire risk when they gnaw through the insulation on wires. Squirrels
also contaminate buildings with the shed hairs, urine, and droppings, and the parasites they carry can transmit many serious arboviral diseases. For more information please visit http://squirrelremovals.com.

Raccoon Trapping and Control – Raccoons are intelligent, medium-sized destructive mammals who frequently take up residence in attics, chimneys, sheds, barns, and other homes and buildings. Raccoons are stocky, powerful animals who can become aggressive and cause serious injury if approached. Raccoons also have a high incidence of rabies, and their parasites can vector many serious diseases. Raccoon control usually is accomplished by trapping and then having a professional
identify areas needed for animal damage repair and prevention. Raccoons will use separate areas in a attic as toilets and the fecal and urine matter can cause the spread of dangerous diseases such as raccoon roundworm and other diseases. For more info please visit http://raccoonremovals.com

Bat Control and Removal – Bats are beneficial mammals because they consume about 1000 insects an hour each during their nightly flights and up to 600o-8000 insects in one evening and basically eat their weight in insects with each nights flights. Bats become a nuisance when they nest in attics, barns, bell towers, soffits, and other parts of buildings. Their guano (droppings) contain disease-causing organisms, their parasites can transmit serious diseases, and the bats
themselves have a high incidence of rabies. Bat control is accomplished primarily by exclusion or the use of one way exit doors. The use of glueboards, mothballs are in many parts of the country illegal since many bats species are endangered and protected by the federal government and many local and state agencies. The trapping and use of nets with bats is illegal in some parts of the country because many get injured and can no longer fly. For more information on bats please visit
    http://batremovals.com

Skunk Control- Skunks (polecats) are medium-sized, primarily nocturnal animals whose diet consists mainly of insects and small rodents. as well as grasses, berries, and other plant products. They also are one of the few animals who eat honeybees. Although passive by nature, skunks will defend themselves with a foul-smelling spray that they can discharge with pinpoint if they feel threatened. This ability is the main reason why skunks are disliked. For more information visit http://skunkremovals.com

Attic Restoration Services – Many times when wildlife such as birds, bats ,raccoons and other species enter an attic they will leave large deposits of urine and fecal material in your attic. The insulation should be removed in affected areas, and the area cleaned up properly and the potential for disease to be transmitted to you, your family and pets is very important. Failure to have your attic cleaned up professionally can also affect the resale value of your home, property or structure. Twitter: What is it? Should I Be Using It For My Own Business?

Twitter is a short blog, 140 characters in length not much effort right, unless you start to think about how just 140 characters can work for your own business model. Use a url shortener (ex.http://tinyurl.com) rather then a whole link and save some character space and get your blog or web page link part of your message.

For the newbies twitter may seem at first to be challenging. Sort of like sitting in the middle of a super bowl game and trying to listen to all 120,00 people in the crowd. Don’t less this scare you away because sometimes tweets are about business and other times it is just about killing time. The trick to twitter marketing is to keep your audience interested without always blasting them away with the often hard sale, internet sales tactics common to all of our email today.

Twitter is about relationships and for the small business owner a chance at small time chat with local patrons who hopefully tell your friends to follow you. You see the personality of your tweets is the real salesmen not the business promotions. Building a list of followers is not about finding the buyer of your products or services but establishing short, intermittent relationships.

Here is some twitter lingo for you a message is a “tweet” and a “tweep” is a person that use twitter.

I read of a local pizza business, “Naked Pizza” in New Orleans that gave it a try locally for one month and they wanted to see if it would impact their small business. He’s gone so far as to erect a billboard outside his store publicizing Naked Pizza’s Twitter. Naked Pizza kept track of all the business coming in, phone calls, walk ins and realized it increased their business 150% in the initial month.

I truly believe Twitter can be used in any business model. A web site, a blog, Facebook account and a twitter account is probably the vehicle to use.

For my buddy Thomas Herrmann, who runs a wildlife control business in New York City. He is now using his phone, Facebook and twitter to say he is on his way to a raccoon problem in Brooklyn in Twitter. Twitter immediately posts the same message to his friends on Facebook. Thomas can post the photo with his mobile phone uploads to his his photo or photos to his Facebook account while doing an inspection. Later Thomas can write about it in his Facebook account and or reference the same job in twitter. Should the story prove interesting add it to his blog(he still needs one) and everything references to his business web site http://wnrsinc.com. A tweet to start the job, a tweet after linking to his photo on Facebook and a tweet to the blog story. Total time invested about twenty minutes and he marketed locally. Use Twitterfeed to put your rss feeds on Twitter

Add a few other tweets to let his friends and followers know he has a life like taking my daughter to a rehearsal at school, spent Memorial day boating for the day with the family or just spend 3 hours in a traffic jam on Fifth Avenue. May be a tweet mentioning some of his friends and followers(tweeps) business’s like met Sarah & Cindy at Guido’s Pizza in Manhattan and keep his followers following him.

Using Twitter to reach a local audience should be any small businessman’s goal. You can also link to other professionals in the industry read their blogs, join with them using Facebook and if you are in the wildlife control industry join my network and stay abreast of all of my marketing opportunities I offer the industry.

I got a message from another professional in the industry who needs to work globally for his business like me. Same rules apply but your audience is again about keeping friends & market the industry . Make announcements of new products and services, sales items and integrate it some items in your personal life . Feed a blog to the twitter, post video announcements etc.

You can follow me on twitter, seems you can follow most anyone on twitter these days too!

Squirrels Gone Wild: Attic and Entrance Control Prevention

Squirrels Gone Wild: Attic and Entrance Control Prevention
by Robb Russell, Gainesville,Florida ,Animal Control-USA.Com, National Wildlife Control Directory

Attics are common place for urban squirrels many have not even learned about living in trees since the imprinting is lost after generations of urbanized squirrels select homes for birthing places because like their own parents were also born in attic or chimney of a home. Bottom line: Squirrels born in attics will also find a home as a den for their own young and it is very common in the cities for squirrels to be born in our homes and not in the hollows of trees like their rural cousins.

    squirrel-in-tree

A pitter patter of little feet or scratching in the walls is the first indication of a squirrel invasion. A squirrel in a home is no different then having rats or mice in your home. The contaminate your attic by defecating or urinating on your insulation or between the walls of your home. For leisure they will find the wiring of your home home and use it to keep their teeth sharpened. Eventually if squirrels are left alone your biggest problem will be an eventual electrical fire and loss of your home or business.

    Building Findable -Wildlife Control-Websites

You Don’t Want To Hear It, Doesn’t Mean It Isn’t True
(Search Engine Friendly Wildlife Control Websites)
    by Robb Russell, Findthewildlifepro.com

This may not make me real popular with many of you site owners, but it is the honest truth.

All of us want top rankings but few are truly prepared to do what it takes to get those top rankings. The truth is the design of your site is important to the success of your web sites search engine findability. Most sites are not built “SEO Friendly” and these errors need to be corrected or you are limiting your rankings potential.

I understand that it is no fun at all to have spent a lot of money or time on a site that looks great only to find out that it is not search engine friendly at all.If you are going to have a web site at least make it findable.

Let’s take a quick minute to explain what “search engine friendly” means to you the wildlife control professional trying to increase your rankings organically on the internet.

Here are just a few of the common search engine friendly issues:

    1. The site was built in a SiteBuilder that doesn’t allow for proper code or optimization.

    2. The two most important meta tags are the title and description tags. They alone account for the majority of your findabilty in a search engine. They must contain your most important keywords that the potential customer will be using to find you. Every page on your site needs their own unique title and description and never use the same description and title more then once on a site since the search engines spidering your site may think they are the same page and not even crawl your page.

    2. You have a title that is improperly named and not relevant to your sites content. Many sites have titles of the business name only yet if your potential customer already had your name they would not need to use a search engine in the first place to find you.

    3. The description a meta tag is poorly written and does not reflect the content of your page.

    4. The content on your page is very important and a pretty picture post card page alone does not cut it in findability.Content needs to be wrote with your keywords in mind first not last.

    5. A poorly written site with bad code and navigation can hurt you as well. Those pages need good names and not “page 1.html”. A good example of a page name would be “buffalo_ny_skunk_control.html”. The page url this way ends up with key words in the page name itself.

    6. Having both external and internal links will help your rankings.Pointing to pages like the internet center for wildlife damage management and other .edu sites with related content are a big plus for your sites visitors and for you related content adding value in your site.

    7. Linking to other NWCO’s like my directories and those out of your area make lots of sense as long as they give you reciprocal links back. Back links from other sites will increase your rankings and not just linking to other sites and all site links need to be content relevant sites and not just anyone who will link to you.

So, as I said, it is difficult when you find out the site isn’t designed to be SEO friendly and that it’s going to take some work to fix things. If you do not have the time or experience and want someone who understands both your business and SEO please call me at 386-454-7474 for a quote.
