Wpn Celebrating Three Years:”Connecting The Consumer With The Wildlife Control Industry”

    Wpn Celebrating Three Years

    trapper_robb_logo_2

It is hard to believe with this past Sep 7th just passing WpN is now three year years old.

For the naysayers, we have not ever formed a new trade association and still back our one and only trade association, NWCOA and are proud to be one of their vendor members today.

It is hard to believe that what started out as five guys wanting to share their tips and tricks with other NWCO’s into the 563 members, 165 podcasts and over 200 videos online we have today and have done it without ever charging any member access to our site and have no plans to ever do it either.

Overtime we have evolved into a network of members who are also avid hunters and fur trappers, beekeeping enthusiasts and but have always stuck to one central theme of connecting the wildlife control industry together. There are many who may argue the fit with beekeeping but so many of us do bee cut outs and live bee removals today because of our involvement beekeeping has become a strong interest area to large part of our membership.

Our current business model is to take this all to the next highest level and promote each of these industries and the people behind each of them and will begin “Connecting The Consumer Better With Our Own Industry” with a commitment to educating the public and our own members alike.

We are holding a podcast Sunday Night for all of our NWCO’s to discuss and share ideas on how to make a NWCO’s business stay solvent over a long cold, snowy winter in the deep snow up north.

The next consecutive 50 Thursdays with the exception of each 2nd Tuesday of each Month (WpN Beekeepers Night) we will be interviewing NWCO’s in each state that advertise with WpN with the state of NY this next Thursday. Still time to signup and be part of that podcast.Call and ask Robb how!

Our phone numbers have changed! Some of our web sites have changed but our commitment to promote all of you has never changed and many of you will be amazed at the changes going behind the scenes daily to not only stay competitive but be become the leading web sites about our industry.

    On oct 1st our new monthly Ezine will be part of the content at “WildlifeControl-USA.COM”and will be how we show case our industry in a positive light to the consumer and of course be linked to all of our state and local directories.;

We don’t build you a page but actually build you a web site within our site and give your business all the tools locally to grow on the internet on your own.For those who belong to the directory we do offer free web site hosting and your own personal FTP access to build your own site and connect it to our directory and a win win for those struggling to make every dollar count. Don’t want to build it yourself, ask me to build your site for you or even just just do the SEO work on your site to get the search engine rankings you need to compete as a NWCO in this new digital age.

Any questions or concerns please feel free to call me.

    Los Angeles Wildlife Control Services-Bats-Coyotes-Birds-Raccoons-Skunks-Snakes

24-Hour Service ::Any Animal,Bird or Wildlife, Anytime

    (310)809-8877

    Website: All City Animal Trapping.Com

All City Animal Trapping removes nuisance wildlife in Los Angeles California with a delicate hand. Often using the animals natural movements against them, we are much more than trappers, we are wildlife professionals. Although we do trap urban wildlife from time to time, we use the most humane and effective methods.

Wildlife in Los Angeles can cause illness in humans, cause flea infestations, physical damage to property, and become an immediate threat to the safety of you or your family. Skunks, raccoons, and coyotes are just a few species we typically work with on an every day basis. But we also handle bird control issues, stray cat colonies, squirrel control, and rat infestations.

We rescue orphaned wildlife, and find qualified facilitators to rehabilitate and finish raising the animal. We get calls all the time from people with baby raccoons living in the attic, and they cause quite a racket at night. Most clients in such a case haven’t had much sleep in the past few days, and have a tired look about them. Our methods normally show resolution within 24 hours. Raccoons are mainly nocturnal animals, so humans and animals have conflicting schedules.
Mole and gopher control in Los Angeles is a Gift from God to any landscaper or gardener. Without proper control of these burrowing pests, a lawn or garden can be completely destroyed on weeks. Our men and women in the area can eliminate the animals doing the damage. We will do it quickly and discretely.
Our Los Angeles Office also repairs damages caused to your home by wildlife. This can be anything from patching a hole made by an animal in the roof, or removing and replacing the contaminated insulation in the attic after the animal issue itself has been resolved. Our representatives in Los Angeles have an intensive background in construction and home repair. We can even make the smell of a skunk go away so your neighbors wont be offended, and you wont even know it was there.
So if you have a need for wildlife control in Los Angeles, look no further, All City Animal Trapping is there for you, and there is no job too big or small.

We service the following cities in Los Angeles County:
Agoura Hills, Alhambra, Arcadia, Artesia, Avalon, Azusa,Baldwin Park, Bell, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Beverly Hills, Bradbury, Brentwood, Burbank, Calabasas, Carson, Cerritos, Claremont, Commerce, Compton, Covina, Cudahy, Culver City, Diamond Bar,Downey, Duarte, El Monte, El Segundo, Gardena, Glendale, Glendora, Hawaiian Gardens, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Hidden Hills, Huntington Park, Industry, Inglewood, Irwindale, La Canada Flintridge, La Mirada, La Puente, La Verne, Lakewood, Lancaster, Lawndale, Lomita, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Lynwood, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Maywood, Monrovia, Montebello, Monterey Park, Norwalk, Palmdale, Palos Verdes Estates, Paramount, Pasadena, Pico Rivera, Pomona, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Rosemead, San Dimas, San Fernando, San Gabriel, San Marino, Santa Clarita, Santa FE Springs, Santa Monica, Sierra Madre, Signal Hill, South El Monte, South Gate, South Pasadena, Temple City, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Vernon, Walnut, West Covina, West Hollywood, Westlake Village, Whittier

Rabies Survivor Teams Up With Parents Of Rabies Victim To Raise Awareness
    July 28, 2009 ·

Last month Alex Sanz, a reporter with KHOU-TV’s 11 News in Houston, Texas, filed a story about the parents of Zach Jones, a 16-year-old Humble High sophomore who died of rabies in 2006. Zach’s parents, Connie and Larry Jones, have broken their silence and in their first interview since this son’s death told 11 News they don’t want other children to suffer as their son did.

Zach was napping when a bat flew through an open window into his bedroom. Something disturbed his sleep because he awoke and brushed the bat off, telling his parents later that it had not bitten him. Five weeks later Zach’s mother said her son was sleeping more than usual, and coughing, but she attributed his symptoms to spring allergies. Then he complained that his mind didn’t feel right, but he couldn’t explain it further. The following week Zach was dead.

Teaming up with Jeanna Giese, 19, of Wisconsin, Connie and Larry Jones have launched a campaign to raise rabies awareness. In 2004, Jeanna was the first person in the world known to have survived rabies without having received a pre- or post-exposure prophylaxis rabies vaccination. Only five others are known to have survived rabies after symptoms have appeared but all had either been vaccinated prior to exposure, or received vaccine soon thereafter, and all but one of these still has persistent neurological difficulties, particularly with body movement.

UNSEEN HAZARDS THAT THREATEN HUNTERS, CAMPERS, AND HIKERS

You can join us by dialing in at 1-724-444-7444 call id 16456#, and use 1# as your pin number. The podcast will available for download upon the conclusion of the podcast at http://skinnymoose.com/wildlifepro/our-podcasts/ along with all of our network podcasts.

Bridgton, Maine, June 25, 2009 – There are UNSEEN HAZARDS in forests and fields that threaten those who enjoy hunting, camping, and hiking. Pathogens commonly found in wildlife can inflict unspeakable suffering and even death. Rabies, Tetanus (Lockjaw), Tularemia (Rabbit Fever), Brusellosis (Undulant Fever), Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Borrelia (Lyme Disease), are six of the most virulent microorganisms lurking in nature’s hidden world patiently waiting for an opportunity to infect the unsuspecting and unprepared. But knowledge and simple protective measures can shield even the most vulnerable.

Jerry Genesio has written an 86-page book containing vital information about these perilous pathogens. Each is described with symptoms, treatment, history, carriers, geographical risk areas, and significant incidence reports. The book also contains advice provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA, on how to avoid vectors such as ticks, and how to properly remove ticks.

In 1993, Rabies was confirmed in 20 deer in the state of New York. Tetanus is commonly found in the intestines of wild animals. About 200 cases of Rabbit Fever are reported in the U.S. annually. There are 100 to 200 human cases of Undulant Fever reported nationally each year with most reports originating in Texas, California, and Illinois. In 2003 and 2004, more than 1,800 cases of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever were reported each year, but less than 2% of all cases are actually found in the Rocky Mountain states. Of 27,444 cases of Lyme Disease reported in 2007, 87% were confined to 10 states, including Connecticut and Wisconsin.

UNSEEN HAZARDS That Threaten Hunters, Campers, and Hikers: What you should know about pathogens commonly found in wildlife, ISBN 978-1448605118, is available for $7.95 plus shipping and handling. It can be ordered online through Amazon.com, Amazon’s Kindle Store ($4.95), or at https://www.createspace.com/3387093 . Also see featured books on www.besthike.com and www.rodnrifle.com.

Jerry Genesio was employed by Cutter Laboratories in their Biological Products Division for nearly 20 years. He has written and published numerous articles, including a natural history series focusing on zoonotic diseases that was featured in New England Outdoors magazine. He lives in Bridgton, Maine, and Wilmington, North Carolina.

Poorman’s Guide to Online Marketing-Using Twitter

    Poorman’s Guide to Online Marketing

Well last nights podcast is now a downloading success after a short introduction I jumped right into the content which was basically 30 minutes of the entire 2 hour show. I need to make one correction from the podcast use Twitterlocal.net and not twitterlocal.com . Oops! Yes I am human and put out the wrong url live. Sorry!

Listen to the podcast here: http://recordings.talkshoe.com/TC-16456/TS-229568.mp3

The following are my notes I used for the podcast: (remember you can follow me on twitter at http://twitter.com/robbrussell . Hint: Please follow me)

Once you have everything all set up this is a 15 minute a day marketing plan that will work if you are regular and keep at it. All you need is a mobile phone that sends pictures, twitter account, Facebook account, your own blog and ideally your own web site.

Your blog and web site need to have links to follow you or your business on twitter and Facebook. You put them there to farm those interested in your information and from a local approach to farm your future prospects

My concept is pretty simple and for sake of a better word lets call it Twitter Farming. Back in my real estate days I farmed a certain area and farmed my prospects both buyers and sellers. You can farm your local area on the internet just as a farmer plants seeds in a field you can plant your online seeds and make your products and services visible to your own target market.

    Twitter Basics

Twitter is often misunderstood it can be either used to push or pull information and you will find both useful. Both a personal and a company name twitter account are recommended.

    In your messages -

    1. Be polite
    2. Make friends
    3. Start conversations
    4. Ask questions
    5. Answer questions

Examples of pushing information in our industry, on a personal twitter account,

    1. Interesting photos you have taken on the job example:

    2. Ask a question “have you ever been this close to a snake, raccoon, bat etc.? http://twitpic/abcdef

    3. Answer a Question ” I have had bats up in my attic for over 2 years, should I be concerned?

Your answer can point to a blog page wrote to answer the question or a specific part of your web site that has the information, or point to another authoritative site like cdc.gov (specific page)

    4. Start conversations- write about things going on locally.

Good example Tom Herrmann in NYC took the day off recently and wrote he helped escort the Portable Vietnam Memorial exhibit coming into his area.

Link to articles you enjoyed or found interesting while reading on the net. Use a hyperlink in your message.

    5. Make friends by showing interest in posts by other followers this can be done either as a reply or a retweet. The retweet is one great way of showing interest and passing their info along to even your own followers which in most cases are even a different subset of followers.

    6. Never spam using your personal account. We all hate spam email and a good way to lose followers is to blatantly burst several messages all at once or only post things of the nature of spamming. The company twitter account is better suited for some of this activity and is more for info to be found by a user in a twitter search.

    Putting it all together.

    1. Time management is very important and I recommend the following tools to keep it at a minimum.

    a. Use the twitter/facebook browser at tweetdeck.com. It like twitter is alittle hard to explain other then imagine a deck of cards all face up on a table or desk this is how you can quickly scan recent messages from twitter and Facebook followers. It allows you to upload pictures using tweetpic in your message, it allows you to seamlessly retweet someone else’s message and several other useful uses.

    b. Use http://twitterlocal.net to create a marketing farm in your area for followers. This can be set within so many miles of any city and help to quickly find other users who have posted recently in your own geographical area. Add all of them or those you feel may be in your target demographic as followers. A percentage of them will also add you thus win-win the goal is not to have to read everything they post but to farm your local and start a following.

    c. You can use http://twtqpon.com and a ready made graphic to upload to your coupon. This can be either used for your company account using keywords for others to find the coupon in a search or in your personal account when responding to a question or even asking one?

Example: I did one for Anytime Animal Control in Wisconsin and California

    10% Off California & Wisconsin Animal Removals @ http://twtqpon.com/vb5bc2 #twtqpon

    d. Register your business on the Twitter Yellow Pages http://www.twellow.com/ . ( I got this tip from Tim Terwilliger, who does Animal Control work in South Charlotte, NC) . He was unable to join on the show last night because his twitter efforts were paying off and did not have enough phone lines to stay on the show. Huh!

    2. I mentioned twitter can be used to pull information too. Use twitter search and develop some useful searches and save them that way you can quickly do these searches and pull any info you may need to add a follower or retweet or create your own content.

    gopherguyngal

Gregg first started trapping Gophers about nine years ago after a long career as a sheet metal worker, His interest in trapping first started when amound appeared in his own yard and was unsure of wheter or not it was ammole or a gopher. In the beginning he could not catch anything and the more traps he set resulted in more damage to his lawn.

It was not until he attended a lecture given by a master gardner that he learned about a safe, non-toxic way of catching gophers and moles. The trap he used was called a cinch trap. Gregg caught his first gopher the next day. Gregg had several friends who also had gopher problems in their yards and he was able to trap them as well. it was not until he met the President of the Sonoma County Grape
Growers Association and he trapped 8 gophers in his first 45 minutes and to date has trapped 4,500 on his 16 acres .Word got out  and so he started trapping in vineyards, then, golf courses, cemeteries, ranches, schools, and private residences all over Sonoma and Marin County and a business was born.

Gregg met his partner, Nancy Cunnion, 4-years ago. She’s from a ranch in Oregon and wanted to expand her interest of the outdoors, so he taught her (almost) everything she knows. She is not as fast as Gregg, but she is methodical and while Gregg may set more traps per hour, she doesn’t let too many critters get through her sets. Nancy has showed Gregg that women can successfully trap as well, and now teaches women how to trap in their own gardens.

    gophergal

With experience, they has learned all the possible ways to set the traps in all kinds of situations and the least time consuming ways to trap.Gregg has since invented an accessory tool that really takes the work out of trapping. He and Nancy have also produced a detailed DVD teaching others how to trap gophers and moles. They have developed their own design of gopher and moles traps and soon will be offering them for sale on their web site http://gophergone.com (Site Under Development).

Find more videos like this on THE WILDLIFE PRO NETWORK

Gregg and Nancy go out trapping a half hour before sunrise and usually trap until noon or so. They have trapped 97 gophers in 7-hours during their best day. They use ATVs loaded with traps to get around on, and it is not uncommon for them to catch 30, 40, or 50 gophers in a day and they really enjoy the challenge of trapping.
